HYPNOTIC JOURNEY PREP

Your environment (internal and external) are key to a successful session. Spend a few uninterrupted moments reading through the information here so you can get the most out of your journey. I’m looking forward to our journey together. Where will we go?!

Jina

  • Listen to this audio recording 3+ times before your session to get your mind accustomed to relaxing to my voice.

A vital part of any hypnotic journey is your ability to relax; the more relaxed you are, the deeper you can go into your experience. Not only will this help you connect to your higher self/wisdom whenever you want, but it will help you go farther, faster when we are working together in session.

Listen during the day when you are in a safe position to relax (like a guided meditation), or as you fall asleep at night.

Caffeine: It's essential to achieve a deeply relaxed state during your session. Consuming too much caffeine can hinder the relaxation process. If you rely on caffeine to feel awake and alert (which is completely understandable!), try to limit your intake to just enough to help you feel human—no more. Feeling wired or jittery is counterproductive to what we aim for in a session, as relaxation is key. Therefore, consume as little caffeine as possible, if you choose to have any at all.

  • Make a plan for the following prior to your session:

    • Schedule 2 hours of uninterrupted time for your experience.

    • Find a private space for your session that will allow you to relax with your eyes closed.

    • Make plans for child or pet care.  You shouldn’t have any external responsibilities that may distract you (children, pets, or otherwise).

    • Your most important job during your session is to relax, listen to my voice, and engage with the session. This means NO phone calls, interacting with other people, or engaging in any other activities.

A vital part of any hypnotic journey is your ability to relax; the more relaxed you are, the deeper you can go into your experience.

    Body Position
Your body should be in a relaxed position during your session (reclined or lying down are great options). You want all areas of your body to be comfortably supported so you can fully relax.  A reclined chair, bed, or couch work great.  You could even set up a comfy nest on the floor with cushions, pillows, and blankets.

    Get Comfy
Make sure your space is set up for maximum relaxation.  Have an extra blanket nearby, since body temperature can drop during trance. Most clients choose to have their session in bed; since bedrooms are usually set up for calm and peace, it’s a natural fit!

    Visual Setup
Set up your device so the camera captures your head and ideally your upper body.  You shouldn’t have to hold anything during the session and may need to use something to prop up your device.  Test this setup prior to your session.

    Sound Set Up
Being able to hear you is obviously very important to a session! If you plan on using earphones, make sure your batteries have enough charge to last the length of the session.

Either way, take a couple minutes to test to make sure wherever your device is set up, it can clearly capture your voice too. Most people speak more quietly in trance so make sure to test the sound as well.

    The Environment
Take a few minutes to test your space set up before we come together for our session.  Consider any distractions that could pop up during your session based on the time of day and the environment and plan accordingly.  Put all your devices on silent (surprise beeps during your session are not relaxing).

If there are interruptions, this does not ruin the session as long as you do not engage with the distraction and you stay relaxed and focused on the session.  Place “DO NOT DISTURB” signs on any doors that could allow in distractions; this could be the door to the room you are in or any doors to the outside of your office or home that could have any potential visitors, deliveries, or other distractions.

  • Meeting Virtually
We’ll be using Zoom for your session so I can observe your body language while you’re under hypnosis (it also makes recording the session really slick!).  Never used Zoom? Click here for a quick introduction.

Shortly after you schedule your session, you’ll receive a confirmation with the Zoom link. If you haven’t received it, remember to check your spam folder. On the day of your session, click the link in this email to access our virtual session.

    Internet Connection
Make sure you have a reliable internet connection the day of the session. Test the Zoom link prior to our session (the page will say the meeting has not started yet, which means everything is working as it should).

Make sure to use a smartphone, laptop or tablet with video capability for your session.  Place your device in a position where I can see your face and ideally most of your body while you’re under hypnosis.  Test this setup before we meet to make sure I can see (and hear!) you properly during our session.

  • Take some time before your experience to set an intention for your journey. Setting an intention helps to prime your subconscious mind for the journey you’d like to experience.  It also lets your higher self and spirit guides know how to best support you on this journey.  Your intention can be as simple or as specific as you’d like.  Some ideas to get you going…

    • “To experience another life that will help me feel more {insert what you want} in this life today.”

    • “To connect to my higher self/wisdom for guidance on {insert issue, something you want to let go of or something you want to call into your life}.”

  • Each session is unique and customized to each client’s intentions and experience. Here is an estimate of how our time together will unfold:

    • We begin with a short conversation about your goals for the session.

    • Then we move into hypnosis by using what is called a “hypnotic induction”. This looks and feels like guided meditation. I’m talking, you are paying close attention to my words and relaxing.

    • Once you are in the trance state (theta brainwave state), we’ll connect to your higher wisdom/Self or another lifetime - or both!

    • Once the hypnotic journey portion is complete, you’ll be brought back into a fully-awakened state.

    • Each session is 90 minutes.

    • Another note on timing: It’s a good idea to give yourself another 30 minutes after the session to ground down and become even more alert. Coming out of a hypnotic trance can feel like coming out from a nap. So give yourself a little time to slowly get going afterward.

    Another resource:

While my sessions have evolved since I recorded this episode in 2019, this deep dive into the anatomy of a PLR still exhibits the value of what you can get from a session. Listen to Anatomy Of A Past Life Regression, episode 3 of my first podcast Past Lives and the Divine.

  • Immediately after a session, you may feel refreshed and energized, or a little slow to get started. Like waking up from a nap, our personal experiences can vary; not only person-to-person, but session-to-session as well.

Give yourself time to move slowly, have a snack/meal, and stay hydrated. All of these things will help you ground back into regular life.

For the next few weeks, you may get more insights, wisdom, or dot connecting between your session and how you can use that experience to live more authentically moving forward.

A hypnosis session can greatly accelerate your understanding of your intuition, purpose in life, motivation, and how you see the world. I recommend continuing your soul exploration, whether that’s another hypnotic journey, a daily journaling or meditation practice, or other types of healing work. Self exploration, reflection, and change is a non-linear and ongoing process.
