Frequently Asked Questions

  • The conscious mind is the logical part of the brain that controls reasoning, analysis, and willpower.  It dominates thinking in our awakened state.

The subconscious mind controls our thought processes, decisions, and emotional reactions.  It contains all of your experiences, memories, and beliefs, which influence your conscious mind’s thoughts and actions.  It’s what determines how easy or difficult something will be for you.  It’s what makes you, you.

The subconscious mind doesn’t analyze information; it just accepts ideas, insights, wisdom, and experiences as long as they  align with your morals and ethics.

Hypnosis is powerful because it allows you to directly change your subconscious mind’s perspective.  Hypnotic trance allows your subconscious mind to access new insight and wisdom through experiences and suggestions.  Through this process, you can align your subconscious mind with your intentions.  This ensures that both aspects of your mind are working in symphony instead of against each other, making it much easier for you to reach your goals.

I saw this repeatedly as a wellness coach, which is why I call the subconscious mind the invisible influencer. You can have good intentions in your conscious mind, but your subconscious will undermine your actions every time if you don’t address the underlying beliefs driving your actions.

  • You may gain insights, emotional release, healing or wisdom right after the session.  It may also take days or weeks to settle into your body, mind, and spirit.  Each session is unique to your goals and intentions, so the results are unpredictable.

For most people, the results are subtle yet game-changing.

For example, a client enters a session with the intention of releasing their overwhelming fear of talking during work meetings.  Before the session, they’d have to take 10 deep breaths and imagine everyone in their underwear.  After the session, they might notice a lack of fear leading up to the meeting. Or they may not be aware of anything until after speaking and suddenly realize “OMG no fear!! That was so easy! I’m free!!”

Along those lines, you may find yourself naturally and effortlessly acting differently. You may take more risks, feel more confident or peaceful, or show up more easily as your true, authentic self.

And because issues tend to overlap, it's common to have one goal or intention for the session but notice impacts in other areas of your life. It’s the best when this happens!

  • Pssst…for an even better explanation of this, check out this podcast episode.

We begin each session by setting goals and intentions for our time together (we’ll spend extra time doing this in your very first session).  Once intentions are set,  I’ll lead you through a guided meditation to help you sink deeper into relaxation. This can take a few minutes or up to 20 depending on the type of session, how deeply relaxed you need to go, and how quickly you relax.

Once you’re deeply relaxed, I’ll ask open-ended questions based on your session’s goals. During this time, you are simply reporting what you see, feel, sense, or imagine.  We dive into the ‘why’ of your experience after the session.

Depending on what you see, feel, sense or imagine, I’ll use different techniques to help you remove past life residue or negative/stuck/heavy energy that has accumulated in your body, mind or spirit.

Then, while still deeply relaxed, I’ll ask open-ended questions to help you connect the dots between what you saw, felt, sensed, or imagined, your life today, and the goals of our session.

Finally, I’ll gently bring you out of the hypnotic trance to debrief (don’t worry, you’ll remember everything!).

  • Because every person’s beliefs, life/soul history, karmic patterns, and experiences are unique, there’s no way to know how long it will take for you to overcome a particular issue or challenge. I’ll let you know what to look for after your session so you can gauge when you might need another session.  This is the most effective way to shed outdated programming and live a life of contentment and peace. Some people feel perfectly balanced after one session.

Change of this magnitude takes commitment and mindfulness.  It can take as long as a month after a hypnosis session for you to fully integrate the information into your body and mind because the insights and wisdom often don’t end with the session. They can continue to unfold in your mind days or weeks after a session.

I’ve personally received hypnosis 1-4 times every year since 2013. If I notice specific issues I need to work through, I’ll schedule a session, work through some things, then schedule another session when I feel the need. This practice takes mindfulness and introspection. If you have more questions about this, I’d be happy to talk to you in more depth about the process.

Our entire existence on Earth is designed for our souls to grow and evolve and most of us will always feel like there is work to be done. That said, releasing the grip of negative emotions and gaining control of our internal landscape never gets old. Each challenge is an opportunity to step into our power and gain more confidence!

  • The moment you schedule a session, our guides begin working together to create the perfect session for your highest and greatest good (meaning that the divine will create the experience your soul needs most to help you heal and grow).

Many clients come with a specific goal in mind for the session. With your goals in mind, it’s best to be open to an experience that will serve your highest and greatest good, whatever that may look like.  Instead of getting attached to a specific outcome, we surrender to the power of the divine and trust that the experience that unfolds will be in support of our highest good.  In my experience, this openness allows us to get what we need every single time.

You can find tips on how to set up your space to make the most of your session here.

  • Absolutely!  In fact, you may retain more details than you would in an awakened state because hypnosis can heighten your senses.  You will be completely alert and extremely relaxed.

While we work with the subconscious mind, the conscious mind never fully turns off. It relaxes but remains active enough to examine the suggestions and make sure they align with your personal morals and ethics.

I also record each session, which you’ll receive a copy of, so you can fully drop in to the experience without having to worry about remembering every detail.

  • The type of hypnosis I facilitate requires you to want any change that is suggested.

This differs greatly from stage hypnosis, where the hypnotist makes people quack like a duck against their will with no recollection of it after coming out of their trance.

For example, if we are working on changing a habit, you have to want the changes for them to stick. This means if you come into the session because someone else wants you to change, it won’t work!

This is also why we work together on what will be suggested or covered in the session. We co-create the experience to ensure any suggestions given during the session are approved of and believable.

  • Everyone can be hypnotized!  Hypnosis is most effective when the person is determined, motivated and focused on the change they want to experience.  It’s a myth that only weak minded or unintelligent people can be hypnotized.

It’s natural to feel like you’re making it up when you experience past life regression, a higher self connection, or spirit/angel guidance.  American culture trains us to believe only what we can see/feel with our physical body;  experiences outside of the norm are therefore fake or made up. We often dismiss intuition or gut feelings for this same reason.  With this programming, it’s only natural to wonder if we’re making it all up.

I asked my spirit guide Sasha how I’d know if I was receiving a message from my intuition/guides, or if it is just my imagination. She said, “imagination and intuition are nearly the same; the difference is how it feels. The feeling in your body will let you know whether this is real or made up. This feeling is always there, whether you feel it now or not. Part of increasing your intuition is getting connected with how it feels, since it looks so similar to the imagination.”

I can testify that this is true.  This message helped me get in touch with and trust my own intuition much more deeply (thanks, Sasha!).

  • Firstly, thank you for thinking of me. It means the world that you trust me to lead you (and your loved ones!) on this unique journey.

I don't offer gift cards of any form because there is REAL magic in someone using their own energy, gumption, and money for a session. Also, there are legal and client rights stuff involved in the sign-up process that necessitate all clients scheduling their own session.

While this doesn't make gifting a session very fun, it's required for insurance reasons. Are the powers that be afraid I am going to go around hypnotizing people against their will?? Who knows.  All I know is that if I want to own a business where I hypnotize clients,  I need to play by those rules!

    A bit more about this:

A crucial part of any session is the preparation that happens before your experience. While this happens outside of the actual session, it lays the foundation for you to have the best and most productive experience possible.

There are changes in our minds and bodies when we approach something with purpose and will; a hypnosis session is no different.

If your loved one really wants a session and you are going to pay for it, give them the money to make the appointment OR have them purchase it and pay them back. Make it fun! Get inventive or artistic with the packaging and delivery. Flex that creativity muscle that makes this life beautiful!

Thanks for spreading the word about my work. It's such a joy to connect with others who are into this kind of experience and growth. Muah, muah!
